Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be greeted and transferred to your accommodation to unwind after your journey. Overnight stay in Moshi/Arusha.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, which takes about 3 to 4 hours. The park is renowned for its substantial elephant population and iconic baobab trees. Wildlife gathers near the Tarangire River, the area’s sole permanent water source. You’ll spot a variety of animals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and thousands of elephants. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight stay in Tarangire.
Days 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, set off for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, a 4-hour drive. The Serengeti is famed for the annual wildebeest migration and its vast plains teeming with predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and more. Your guide will select the best spots for wildlife viewing based on the season. Highlights include visits to the hippo pool and opportunities to witness the great migration or a lion on the hunt. The journey will take you from open plains to rocky kopjes, providing diverse and thrilling game-viewing experiences. Overnight stay in Serengeti.
Days 5 & 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater
Start early in the Serengeti to catch predators before they retreat from the midday heat. After a few hours of game viewing, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the night. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera, spans about 20 kilometers and is 600 meters deep. Almost all of the park’s wildlife resides within the crater, offering excellent game-viewing opportunities. Wake up early to explore the crater, where you’ll likely spot rhinos and predators such as lions and cheetahs. Overnight stay in Ngorongoro.
Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning, travel for about an hour to Lake Manyara, a lesser-known gem in Tanzania. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and large elephant herds, which often come close to vehicles. After lunch, drive back to Moshi/Arusha, a trip of 2 to 3 hours. Overnight stay in Moshi/Arusha.
