7 Days Big Five Safaris In Tanzania

Day 1: Arrival

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be greeted and transferred to either Moshi or Arusha. This will give you time to relax after your journey and, if the skies are clear, you might catch a stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro, rising above the clouds.

Overnight in Moshi/Arusha.

Days 2, 3, & 4: Serengeti National Park

On the second day, you’ll set off from Arusha on a scenic four-hour drive to the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most renowned game parks. The vast plains are home to the incredible wildebeest migration and a variety of predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. As you journey to your camp, enjoy a game drive along the way and the thrill of sleeping amidst the wild Serengeti. Spend the following days exploring the endless plains, witnessing the migration, and seeking out the famous Big 5.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro

Start the day early with a game drive, focusing on spotting big cats before the afternoon heat sets in. After a morning of wildlife viewing, travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you’ll spend the night near the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera in the world, spanning 20 kilometers in diameter and 600 meters in depth—a truly magnificent natural wonder.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a unique wildlife sanctuary where most animals remain within the crater walls. You’ll have excellent chances to see rhinos, along with lions and other predators like cheetahs. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pond, then drive back to Arusha, a journey of about two hours.

Day 7: Departure

On your final day, you’ll be transferred to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in time for your flight.
