10 Days Tanzania Best Safari

Day 1 – Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be greeted and transferred to your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha to rest and recover from your journey.

Days 2 & 3 – Western Serengeti (Grumeti)

You’ll fly to the western corridor of Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife reserves. Upon arrival, you’ll be driven to your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive along the Grumeti River circuit before returning to the lodge for afternoon tea, followed by dinner. Later, embark on a night game drive to experience the nocturnal wonders of the Serengeti.

On Day 3, explore the Grumeti Corridor on foot, getting closer to nature and learning about the area’s flora, fauna, and diverse wildlife. Return to the lodge for a late lunch and some relaxation.

Day 4 – Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll travel to Central Serengeti. Your guide will select the best spots for wildlife viewing based on the season. Visit the hippo pool, observe lions stalking prey, or witness the awe-inspiring Great Wildebeest Migration. The journey takes you from expansive plains to kopjes, volcanic rock formations that provide shelter for various animals, offering unparalleled wildlife experiences.

Days 5 & 6 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Explore on foot the historical Olduvai Gorge, also known as the Cradle of Mankind, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world. You’ll also visit the Shifting Sand Dunes, Ol Karien Gorge to see Ruppel’s Griffon Vultures, and Nasera Rock for panoramic views. After a picnic lunch, you’ll drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for an overnight stay.

On the morning of Day 6, you’ll visit Empakaai Crater for stunning views, including the possibility of seeing Ol Doinyo L’Engai, Tanzania’s only active volcano. After descending into the crater, enjoy a 2-3 hour walk around the lake, where you’ll likely spot buffalo, hyena, elephants, and birds. Afterward, travel to Olmoti Crater for a scenic hike and observe Maasai herders and highland landscapes.

Overnight in Ngorongoro

Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park

Today, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing. The crater is home to an array of animals, including rhinos, lions, and cheetahs, all living within its natural walls. After lunch by the hippo pond, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park.

Days 8 & 9 – Tarangire National Park & Arusha

Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant population and majestic baobab trees. The animals gather along the Tarangire River, which is the only permanent water source in the region. Wildlife in the park includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, and thousands of elephants. Day 8 offers flexibility, with the option to split your time between morning and afternoon game drives or enjoy a full day on safari.

On Day 9, you’ll have one last opportunity to immerse yourself in Tarangire’s wildlife. You can opt for a relaxed morning after a night drive or head out on foot along the Tarangire River to experience the animals up close. After lunch, you’ll begin your drive back to Arusha.

Day 10 – Departure

You will be transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight.
